Lindos The ancient port town of Lindos is an archaeological site on the east coast of the island of Rhodes and is also the main tourist destination on the island. Dating from the 10th century B.C, Lindos is today a delicate mix of mediaeval history, golden beaches and the marina. The village is famous for its Acropolis which was built by the inhabitants as a defence against the continuous attacks by pirates. It is now home to artefacts of priceless archaeological value such as rock carvings, wall paintings, domed temples, lined pillars and Dorian galleries. Carefree tourists can also enjoy Lindos for the water sports; the natural caves, the picturesque villages and the very active nightlife.
