Liverpool Liverpool is a city in Merseyside, England. It is famed for its music, football clubs and vibrant nightlife. The city was recently awarded the title of European Capital of Culture 2008, and is home to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. A wealth of musical talent has emerged from the city including The Beatles, Gerry & the Pacemakers and more recently, Atomic Kitten. Liverpool is full of architectural gems, such as The Royal Liver Building, it is perhaps the most famous Liverpool Icon and home to the legendary Liver Birds that sit atop of the building. The city centre is compact enough to walk around, or there's the Mersey Ferries, a fun day out and a great way to see Liverpool!
