Mainz

Mainz is the capital city of Rhineland-Palatinate region, in Germany, close to the Rhine River. The city has some interesting Roman rests, such as the Roman aqueduct and the Drusus monument settled in the 17th century citadel, and also medieval remains like the Cathedral of St. Martin or the Iron Tower, a 13th century tower situated at the former Iron Market. Museum of Antique Seafaring or the State Museum are few examples of the cultural offer of Mainz; there are organized tours to discover the city history and museums. Also picturesque is the Walk of Fame of Cabaret, a sidewalk with more than seven star shaped sculptures featuring names of cabaret celebrities. Festivals like the traditional St. John's Night Festival, or the Annual Wine Market, in August are the most important events in Mainz.
