Messonghi

The village of Messonghi, situated on the east coast of Corfu, is relatively unspoilt by tourism (due to its location half a kilometre away from the busy main southern coastal road) and still retains the welcoming characteristics of a Greek coastal village. A variety of bars, tavernas and shops can be found on the sea front. The beach is long and sandy offering lovely views across to the Greek main land. Look out for the spectacular thunder and lightning storms on the mainland, its not uncommon to see spectators sitting at the variety of beach bars and tavernas watching the light show during the islands warm summer evenings.
