Perugia Perugia is the capital city of the central Italian region of Umbria. Every July, Perugia is home to one of Europe's largest jazz festivals, bringing with it some fantastic musicians from all over the world and a warm, friendly atmosphere. Perugia has so many things to see including Palazzo dei Priori, many churches and cathedrals, the medieval aqueduct and Piazza Matteotti. Just outside of Perugia is the gorgeous Italian countryside with its vineyards, hillsides and lakes. And as can be expected from anywhere in Italy, the food is Perugia from pizza to risotto is superb and there are copious amounts of local wine to go with it.
