Plovdiv

Plovdiv is located in Southern Bulgaria settled along both shores of the river Maritza. With more than 200 known archaeological sites, Plodiv is sometimes called the eternal city (like Rome). The Ancient Theatre, the Roman Stadium or the magnificent mosaics of the Episcopal temple are just few examples of its interesting heritage. Also there are notable samples of Bulgarian National architecture of Renaissance, as the House Balabanov, the House Kuyumdzhiev, the House Lamartine, and the houses of Georgiadi, Nedkovich, and Hindian. Plovdiv boasts diverse cultural events as well; interesting films, theatre and music festivals can be enjoyed each year in the city.
