Rabat Rabat is a capital city of the Kingdom of Morocco. A curious mix of a distant past and a highly modern present, it is the city is 2nd most important city in the country. Rabat is located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. Notable attractions include the Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the necropolis of Chellah, the imposing royal palace and the Medina. The medina is a great place to pick up a bargain, all the usual touristy goodies are on offer, including leather goods, metalwork, and ornate mirrors. Travel up to the Kasbah Oudaya and enjoy great views and mint tea in the small café overlooking the sea.
