Salzburg Salzburg is a city in Austria and the birthplace of Mozart. The old town is a great place to walk around, with lots of narrow streets to wander down, such as Getreidegasse, famous for the old-style signs of profession outside each store. Many companies run coach tours around Salzburg and the most popular of these is 'The Sound of Music tour' which visits all the locations featured in the film. Salzburg is also home to the world famous Salzburg Festival which takes place every year in July and August. Operas, concerts, and theatres are performed in different locations throughout the city for all to enjoy!
