Sardinia
Sardinia is the 2nd largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and it is an autonomous region of Italy, its capital city is Cagliari. The island has numerous tourist areas, these include the Costa Smeralda and Gennergentu. Sardinia is famous for its beaches and Mediterranean climate but this is not its only attraction, picturesque sea towns line the coast and there are lots of archaeological ruins to explore. For some serious night life, you will have to go to the big cities or the touristy places. Sample the real Sardinia in the small villages where you can listen to launeddas and try the local tipple 'Filu e Ferru' (“iron wire”) but be warned it's got a bit of a kick!
