Venice
Venice is a unique, timeless and sinking city. Tourists flock to this city which is still claimed to be the quintessential romantic city. The city is built on 117 small islands in the Venetian lagoon; it has some 150 canals and 409 bridges. Venice is a great walking city, it's small, easy to cover, the perfect place to get lost for a day. The only other way of getting around is by boat, and for everyday travel there are the water buses/taxis. Gondolas are hardly a practical way of around, but they will take you on the most romantic (if what pricey) of journeys.
